10 Must-Follow Leaders in Pay Transparency!
It’s the last summer to work on the EU Pay Transparency Directive and I hope you are in the midst of preparation. Because we’re getting close, I see consultants and advisors popping up left and right, offering to help with your implementation. Even though a pay transparency project isn’t super complex, their experience helps you avoid mistakes. Lessons learned from others can speed up your implementation. Also, my free templates help you get started.
My recommendation? If you need outside help, reach out to the people who’ve done this before and have some projects under their belts. Who know the network and give solid advice. I see so much nonsense flying around at the moment, that I want to share a list of reputable pay transparency leaders. People who’ve been talking about this topic for a while and share valuable insights. The list isn’t exhaustive, but when you follow or reach out to them, you’ll receive reliable information. Because when it comes to employee pay, getting it right the first time is critical!
The 10 pay transparency people you should follow today:
Christine Hendrickson and Charlie Higgins just ran a great webinar on the Countdown to the EU Directive. Christine is always the first to share the latest legal changes, and Charlie adds the European perspective. Did I mention Charlie writes a monthly newsletter?
Rachel Gibbs and I just met for coffee in Zurich to discuss pay transparency – obviously! Rachel has also launched her EU Pay Transparency Masterclass Series, where she shares her experience and helps you prepare for the Directive. Super practical with a dedicated community platform for Q&A.
Jon Sannes has a rewards background and has been a long time advocate for pay transparency. You should absolutely watch his three-part interview series with Kira Marie Peter-Hansen, the EU Parliaments Chief Negotiator on the Pay Transparency Directive to get a good understanding of the purpose behind the directive.
Philipp Schuch can tell you everything about job evaluation, levels and job architecture. If you want to understand how to determine what equal work is, follow his posts (in German and English) or read his articles.
Virgile Raingeard and I ran an 8 Steps to Pay Transparency webinar where the chat exploded with questions. So we ran a follow up session to answer all of them. Really fun! Virgile explains how to compare salaries, alternating between French and English.
Michelle Dervan writes the Pay Transparency Playbook newsletter and shares simple frameworks to implement the directive, like a 12-month roadmap.
Sarah Maximilian focuses on pay transparency from a total rewards perspective, which leads to new insights. Like her webinar series on Change Management on your road to pay transparency. So important to carefully think through all your stakeholder groups!
Hayley Bakker talks about equity and inclusion connected to pay transparency. Often posting about diversity and workforce discrimination, her posts point out how transparent pay policies help you establish a great place to work.
Timmy Lundin shares reflections on pay transparency and pay equity in his newsletter. And he shares the local legislative updates as well.
And before you go, I want to share this insightful keynote from Kira Marie Peter-Hansen, where she talks about the directive, data and implementation practices. You don’t want to miss it!
